I can hardly think of a better way to kick off 2015 than the ASSA Annual Meeting. The meeting is January 3-5th in Boston, MA and the preliminary program has something for everyone. OK, almost everyone.

As if that wasn’t enough, there will also be an Interactive Publishing Forum and Reception on Sunday the 4th, from 6:00-8:00pm, organized by our friends at Elsevier. The reception is designed to be an open dialogue on the future of research and academic publishing, with the help of some drinks and food, of course (credit carolyn). While it’s easy to pick on Elsevier, I am impressed by their level of involvement in thinking about scholarly publishing in the future, including ideas that may put parts of their business at risk.

They graciously asked me to participate on the panel to discuss research visibility and impact from a SS&H perspective. The talks will be light and the conversation should be insightful (hopefully even a little challenging). I’m around for the whole conference if you want to meet up. So, check out the registration, or drop me a line.
