Announcing 1st International Workshop on Engineering EHR Solutions (WEES) on SSRN

In cooperation with the University of Amsterdam, the Legal Scholarship Network (LSN) is pleased to announce the 1st International Workshop on Engineering EHR Solutions (WEES) Online Proceedings. These proceedings are available to all users at no charge and contain abstracts of the conference papers with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The 1st international Workshop on Engineering EHR Solutions (WEES) was held in 2012 in Amsterdam, as part of the Amsterdam Privacy Conference. The workshop treated various issues regarding the design and implementation of large-scale electronic health record (EHR) systems – with a specific interest in security and privacy aspects. Papers presented case studies such as the Austrian National eHealth infrastructure, legal systems, and security and privacy policies for exchanging medical information.

A panel with, among other speakers, prof. Ross Anderson (Cambridge University) and Dr. Deborah Peel (Patient Privacy Rights, USA) discussed the role of governments in constructing EHR systems.

The papers contained in these proceedings are peer-reviewed versions of the papers that were presented at this lively and interesting workshop.
