I’m speaking at the American Accounting Association’s Annual Meeting today (August 6 2013), this years’ theme is Brilliantly Disguised Opportunities.

The morning panel, The Future of Academic Research, will explore progressive new research opportunities and the future of higher education. Michael C. Jensen, Co-Founder and Chairman of SSRN, and Judy Luther, President of Informed Strategies are joining me on the panel.

In the afternoon, I’m joining The Future of Intellectual Property: Moving Beyond the Static Article Session, to talk about the sharing of data and other supplementary materials. Robert Lipe, University of South Carolina, is moderating and Julie Smith David, AAA Chief Innovation Officer, Jeff Michelman, University of North Florida, Greg Waymire, Emory University are joining me on the panel.

The discussions should be very interesting this year. The AAA is forward thinking and the meeting provides a thoughtful mix of academics, open access and industry experts.
