Announcing 7th Australasian Actuarial Education & Research Symposium eJournal

In cooperation with Bond University, the Social Insurance Research Network (SIRN) is pleased to announce the 7th Australasian Actuarial Education & Research Symposium. This eJournal is available to all subscribers at no charge and contains abstracts of the meeting papers with links to the full text in the SSRN eLibrary.

The theme for this year will be Finance and Big Data in Actuarial Science. The main objective of the symposium is to provide a platform for an engaging discussion on the future direction of the actuarial education and research. In particular, the growth of the non-traditional areas in actuarial employment and how that should be incorporated in the Actuarial syllabi or as a separate specialisation. Presentations that address these issues or the transfer of actuarial skills to non-traditional areas, such as data analytics are of particular interest of this symposium.
