Our Commitment to Researchers In Action

It’s been an exciting month since we announced our merger with Elsevier. This week the SSRN eLibrary reached 100,000,000 downloads! It is an amazing accomplishment and we are greatly appreciative of this milestone. It wouldn’t be possible without the authors and users that make up the SSRN Community.

As we said a month ago, you are critical to our success and we will continue to provide the same services that we have in the past:

  •  Submission will remain free – Authors will always be able to post their papers to SSRN without a charge
  • Downloading will remain free – We have never charged to download papers submitted by the author and we won’t in the future
  • Copyright remains with the author – We have not and will not take a copyright to work submitted to SSRN

But, innovation is in our future – Elsevier is contributing significant development and other resources to make SSRN better. We promised “your experiences will become even more enjoyable and productive” and the first dose just became a reality!

Today we are releasing the long requested Full Text Search on SSRN; making it possible for you to search not only abstracts and titles, but within the entire research paper!

This is the first of many advances as we strive to make researchers lives easier. We are already conducting interviews for a UX redesign and will share our technology road map later this summer.

Our commitment to researchers hasn’t changed, it’s been made stronger and better!
